I have over 20 years experience in the classroom -- and in the community -- advocating for the arts and encouraging the creative artist in everyone. Whether it's creating a mentorship program for young women, developing school residencies, facilitating post-show panels and discussions, or leading community classes, I believe the arts make a difference.
A Master Teaching Artist at The Old Globe Theatre, I am dedicated to connecting with people of all ages through the arts. Previous teaching experience includes leading, developing and facilitating workshops and residencies with the La Jolla Playhouse, Playwright's Project, North Coast Repertory Theatre and MOXIE Theatre where I was the Director of Education for 5 years. Lisel has over 30 years of experience in the classroom -- and in the community -- advocating for creative opportunities and encouraging the creative artist in everyone. Whether it's creating a mentorship program for young women, developing school residencies, facilitating post-show panels and discussions, leading community classes, or supporting fellow educators through training and professional development opportunities, she believes the arts make a difference.
Lisel is the Director of Program Development at the Office of Innovation on the UC San Diego campus. Previously Associate Director of Arts Engagement at The Old Globe, Director of Education at MOXIE Theatre, and master teaching artist for numerous arts organizations in the San Diego region.
Lisel serves on the VAPA (Visual and Performing Arts) Advisory Council for San Diego Unified School District.
